About North Amityville

North Amityville Park and Pool has served this part of the Town of Babylon since 1967. The complex combines tennis courts and a playground with a main pool, children's pool, water slide, shade arbor, concession area, showers, changing space, and Wi-Fi. For the 2026 season, the pool was scheduled to operate daily from late June through Labor Day for town residents, and the recreation department also based a full-day summer camp there. Two other local parks broaden the choices: ACE Center Community Park provides softball and football fields plus a playground, while Bolden Mack Park has basketball and handball courts, a picnic area, playground, and Wi-Fi. Public services also connect North Amityville to the rest of Long Island. Suffolk County Transit Route 10 runs every day at 60-minute intervals between the Amityville and Babylon Long Island Rail Road stations, traveling through North Amityville and Dominican Village.

On Cedar Road, the North Amityville Senior Center opens weekdays and provides breakfast and lunch, exercise, yoga, line dancing, arts and crafts, social events, billiards, daily rides to the center, and periodic shopping transportation. The 2020 census counted 18,643 North Amityville residents. In the 2020-2024 profile, 45 percent of residents were Black, 38 percent were Hispanic or Latino, 35 percent were foreign-born, and 38 percent of people age five or older spoke a language other than English at home.
