About Redcrest
Redcrest is a Humboldt County census-designated place on California 254, the Avenue of the Giants. The county’s community plan assigns about 71% of its land to resource management, 10% to residential use, and 19% to commercial or industrial use; two industrial sites support timber-products processing. Redcrest began as a 1919 logging camp, and the Avenue’s post office, lodging, and roadside businesses still sit along the same corridor. Humboldt Redwoods State Park follows the 32-mile avenue, making old-growth redwood forest part of Redcrest’s physical setting.
