Tucked into the San Juan Mountains along the Dolores River, Rico is a quiet southwest Colorado mountain town with deep historic roots. Originally founded during the 1879 silver rush, the town still shows off its Old West character through the historic wooden buildings along Main Street. Set along Highway 145 about 45 minutes south of Telluride, it gives residents incredible access to mountain trails, fishing, and a relaxed, unhurried way of life.
