Rigby, ID

Located in eastern Idaho along the upper Snake River plain, Rigby is a friendly community of about 5,000 residents that pairs small-town charm with an easy commute. Sitting right along Highway 20 between Idaho Falls and Rexburg, it serves as a convenient home base for people working at the Idaho National Laboratory, BYU-Idaho, or regional healthcare centers. The town features quiet residential streets, scenic mountain views in every direction, and solid local schools through Jefferson County School District 251.

Rigby is famously recognized as the birthplace of television, thanks to a teenage Philo Farnsworth, who first conceived the idea for electronic TV while working on a local farm. That heritage is preserved at the town's Farnsworth TV and Pioneer Museum. Outdoor recreation is also a major part of living here. World-class fly fishing is right down the road on the South Fork and Henry's Fork of the Snake River, while Jefferson County Lake on the edge of town provides an easy spot for summer swimming, paddleboarding, and camping.
