Roadstown, NJ

Roadstown is a tiny, quiet rural crossroads tucked into Stow Creek Township in Cumberland County, New Jersey. Home to around 150 residents, it offers a peaceful, open-country atmosphere surrounded by South Jersey farmland, just a few miles southwest of Shiloh and a short drive from Bridgeton. Dating back to pre-Revolutionary times when it was known as Sayre’s Corners, the area has deep historic roots and was once famous for 18th-century chairmaker Maskell Ware, whose handcrafted wooden chairs remain regional collectors' items.

For families with children, local education is handled through a cooperative partnership between Stow Creek and neighboring Greenwich. Younger elementary students attend the Morris Goodwin School, middle school grades go to Stow Creek School, and older teens head to Cumberland Regional High School. Because the Roadstown crossroads sits right near township boundaries, including neighboring Hopewell, it is always a good idea to verify the specific street address when checking school zoning for a home.
