About Rocky Point
Rocky Point is a Lake County census-designated place on the west shore of the southern end of Flathead Lake, where the 2020 census counted 111 residents. The community sits in north-central Montana between the lake and the lower Mission Valley landscape. Its neighbors on the map are Kings Point to the northeast and Jette to the southwest, so Rocky Point is part of a thin string of lakeside settlements instead of a standalone urban center.
Flathead Lake supplies the main local reference point: open water, shoreline, seasonal recreation, and the roads that follow the western edge. The shoreline is the town's first address, even where the roads turn inland. The lake also shapes weather, views, and the rhythm of local travel. Polson lies south across the lake region, while Lake County's larger service network reaches north toward Ronan and the Mission Valley. Rocky Point's character comes from that combination of water, mountain horizons, and a small collection of homes and rural properties spread along the shore.
