Roseland, NJ

Roseland is a small Essex County borough set between First Mountain and the Passaic River, west of the denser inner suburbs near Newark. Its early history connects to the old Horseneck Tract, which included several present-day Caldwell-area communities. Modern Roseland is residential but also has a notable office and corporate presence, with companies and law firms based in town. It feels like a quieter suburban pocket with wooded edges, commuter access, and more business activity than its small population might suggest.
