About San Manuel
San Manuel is a census-designated community in Pinal County, Arizona, situated in the San Pedro River Valley along the edge of the Sonoran Desert. Located forty-five miles northeast of Tucson, the community was constructed in 1953 by the Del E. Webb Construction Company as a company town to support a major copper mining and smelting complex. In 1955, the San Manuel Arizona Railroad was established to connect the site to regional lines. Today, the town provides a home to approximately thirty-five hundred residents.
