Simms, MT

Simms lies in the Sun River valley of Cascade County, about 30 miles west of Great Falls. The 2020 census counted 361 residents. The town grew on a low spot between buttes and benches, a setting that suited the Sun River Irrigation Project authorized in 1906. Reclamation later laid out Simms as one of the project towns, and the valley's working pattern still follows water: the broader project irrigates fields of wheat, oats, barley, and alfalfa.

School and highway connections keep the map practical. Sun River Valley Elementary District's 2024–25 directory lists three schools serving prekindergarten through eighth grade, with its district address on Walker Street in Simms itself. Simms High School continues the local secondary-school link. Great Falls is the nearest larger city, and Choteau, Cascade, and Augusta mark the other directions through the valley. Simms is an agricultural place whose streets sit inside a federal water project, with school and town routines spread along the Sun River corridor.
