Tucked into the Bear Creek valley along U.S. Route 2, Snowslip is a tiny mountain outpost in northwestern Montana. It sits roughly seven miles southwest of Marias Pass near the Continental Divide, surrounded by the dense woods of Flathead National Forest. Freight trains on the BNSF railway rumble past the edge of the valley, lending a classic mountain-pass atmosphere to this quiet stretch of highway.

Home to only around forty residents, Snowslip is ideal for anyone looking for serious solitude and quick access to the outdoors. Glacier National Park borders the area just across the tracks, offering endless room for hiking, wildlife spotting, and winter snowshoeing. You will need to head down the road into larger Flathead County towns for groceries and basic services, but the tradeoff is an exceptionally peaceful setting deep in the Rockies.
