South Hills, MT

South Hills is a census-designated place in northern Jefferson County, immediately south of Helena and beside Montana City. The 2020 census counted 644 residents. It sits on the foothill side of the Helena valley, where east-flowing tributaries of Prickly Pear Creek run toward the Missouri River. The boundary lines matter: Helena is to the north, Montana City wraps around the south and east, and the area's roads connect those two places.
