Stowe, VT

Tucked into the valley between Mount Mansfield and the Worcester Range, Stowe is anchored by two distinct centers: the historic village along Route 100 and Mountain Road heading up toward the ski slopes. While the broader town is home to around 5,000 year-round residents, the historic village center itself is a compact hub of local businesses, civic buildings, and classic New England architecture. Route 108, known locally as Mountain Road, connects this traditional downtown directly to the resort area at the base of Vermont's highest peak.
