About Tetonia

Tetonia sits in Teton County with the Teton Range as its namesake, about 50 miles northeast of Idaho Falls. It started as an agricultural town, and the Union Pacific changed the map when businesses from Haden moved over to the new rail stop. The town still follows the seasons: the Tetonia Ice Rink, January Snow Plane Rally, and July Tetonia Celebrates America give the calendar a distinctly local rhythm. Mountain weather is part of the practical backdrop, from winter skating to summer events.

Teton Valley Idaho

Ruby Carson Park gives residents a pavilion, fire pit, running paths, and the ice rink; the Tetonia Club occupies a 1911 building that opened in 1912 as Teton Valley’s first bar and now handles events. Teton High School is the county’s only comprehensive high school, so school and town events overlap with the old rail-and-farm identity. The local read is a small valley city where winter ice, January planes, summer celebration, and the mountain name all share the same calendar.
