Three Points, AZ

Three Points, known locally as Robles Junction, is a relaxed rural community about 25 miles southwest of Tucson in the Altar Valley. Home to around 5,000 residents, it attracts people looking for spacious desert lots, horse properties, and clear views of the Sierrita and Coyote Mountains. Life out here offers quiet privacy, dark starry skies, and a slower pace along Highway 86, all while keeping the city within a manageable driving distance.

Younger students attend elementary and middle school right in the valley, while high schoolers commute into Tucson. You can take care of everyday basics locally at neighborhood spots and the community center, though residents head into Tucson for major grocery runs, medical care, and most jobs. Moving here means embracing rural desert living, including hot summers, dirt roads, and monsoon storms that can temporarily flood washes. For many newcomers, that rustic independence and open desert setting are well worth the trade-offs.
