Tilden, TX

Tilden is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in and the county seat of McMullen County, Texas, United States. The 2020 census counted 190 residents. Tilden lies at the intersection of State Highways 16 and 72 in the north-central part of the county. Tilden is located about 70 miles south of San Antonio. During the Civil War, a Home Guard post named Camp Rio Frio was built to protect the community from Apaches and bandits.
