About Wabasso
Wabasso is a city in Redwood County, Minnesota, United States. The 2020 census counted 739 residents. Wabasso was platted in 1889. Wabasso is a name derived from 'waabooz', the Ojibwe word for "snowshoe hare" or more generally "rabbit". In 2018 the Wabasso Knowledge Bowl team, nicknamed the Killer Rabbits of Caerbannog in reference to the Monty Python and the Holy Grail character, went to the State Competition, making them the smallest school in the state to ever do so. Wabasso's local map joins its older history to the places and landscapes that still shape the town today, all within the wider Minnesota setting. The local scoop is how Wabasso's history still shows up in the places people visit, work, learn, and meet.
