Walton is a home rule-class city in Boone and Kenton counties, Kentucky, situated within the Lexington-Fayette metropolitan area. First settled in 1840 and growing rapidly after the railroad extension in 1869, the community of approximately 5,730 is served by the Walton-Verona Independent Schools district for public primary and secondary education.
