Websterville, VT

Websterville is a census-designated place in the town of Barre, Washington County, Vermont, in the granite country east of Barre. The village sits beside one of central Vermont's long-established quarry districts, where the Wells-Lamson Quarry and other operations have worked Barre granite for generations. Before 2010 Websterville was part of the larger Graniteville-East Barre CDP; it is now named separately on the census map.

Granite does most of the local storytelling. Quarry roads, stone sheds, abandoned pits, and working operations tie Websterville to the immigrant labor and monument-making history of Barre. The Barre Town municipal plan identifies the Graniteville and Websterville areas as the center of local granite work, while the Wells-Lamson quarry remains a prominent landmark on Websterville Road. The village's roads connect with Barre, Graniteville, and the surrounding hills of Washington County. Barre remains the nearest larger reference point.
