Weeksville, MT

Located about six miles northwest of Plains in Sanders County, Weeksville is a quiet rural community tucked along the Clark Fork River. While only a few dozen residents live here today, the area bustled in the early 1880s as a key construction camp for the Northern Pacific Railway. Hundreds of crew members, including many Chinese laborers, set up winter headquarters here while blasting through rock and laying track across the rugged mountains.

After the railroad was finished in 1883, the busy camp cleared out and settled into the peaceful timber country you see now. Living in Weeksville today means enjoying quiet acreage, mountain views, and easy access to the river. It offers a relaxed rural lifestyle with plenty of privacy, while the local shops, dining, and schools in Plains are just a ten-minute drive down Highway 200.
