West Haven, UT

The Weber and Ogden rivers meet inside West Haven's northeastern corner, while most of the city spreads west of Ogden across the Weber County valley floor. Today's municipality joined the former farming communities of Wilson and Kanesville in 1991. Wilson took its name from a family that began farming west of the Weber River in 1853 and 1854, and Kanesville, now the city's southern section, developed from settlement beginning around 1870. The scale of West Haven has changed quickly since incorporation. Public facilities are being expanded alongside that growth. The 30-acre R. Kenneth Baldwin Country Park combines three baseball fields, pickleball, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground, pavilions, a rodeo arena, a walking trail, and open fields. Stonefield Park adds multiuse fields, a playground, and a pavilion, while the paved West Haven Parkway Trail runs 3.5 miles and links with the Weber River Parkway.

City recreation spending supports baseball, basketball, flag and tackle football, hockey, volleyball, and outdoor programs; separate offerings have included fishing, archery, tennis, pickleball, martial arts, and day camps. West Haven Days brings rodeos, a queen contest, a concert, and other festival events to the annual city celebration, and the municipal arts program stages its own festival. Current capital work is also creating a new recreation node at Windsor Park. For fiscal 2026, the city budgeted additional development there for a playground, trail, disc golf, landscaping, and related infrastructure on land that had remained largely undeveloped for more than two decades.
