Willsboro, NY

Willsboro Point is an Essex County census-designated place in the town of Willsboro, occupying a long peninsula that reaches into Lake Champlain. The peninsula creates Willsboro Bay on its western side and opens toward the main lake to the east, with the hamlet near the southern end. Willsboro Point sits about four miles north of Willsboro hamlet and across the lake from Burlington, Vermont. Its geography is mostly water, shoreline, and the roads that follow the narrow landform.

The broader Town of Willsboro was settled in 1765 and organized in the years after the Revolutionary War, with the Boquet River and Lake Champlain shaping its early development. The town's heritage group preserves that longer history, while Willsboro Point remains the lake-facing piece of the local map. Willsboro Central School District serves the area. Marinas and protected bays draw boat traffic, but the peninsula's deeper story is structural: one long finger of land dividing open lake from sheltered water and tying the hamlet to the Adirondack foothills.
