Woodstock, IL

Woodstock is a McHenry County city with a historic downtown square and a strong small-city identity. Originally known as Centerville because of its central location in the county, it grew into a courthouse and market town. The square, older buildings, local events, and rail access give Woodstock more character than a typical outer suburb. It is also widely recognized as a filming location for Groundhog Day, which fits its preserved, compact downtown feel without fully defining the place.
