Yarrowsburg, MD

Set right at the foot of Elk Ridge in Washington County, Yarrowsburg is a small, quiet community on the western edge of Pleasant Valley. It gets its name from Aquila and Polly Yarrow, a free Black couple who bought a log home here back in 1825. While the nearby ridges once supplied timber for the old Antietam Iron Works, the area has long settled into a tranquil rural neighborhood, surrounded by open farmland and pretty mountain views.
