Zuehl, TX

Zuehl sits on Cibolo Creek at the western edge of Guadalupe County, thirteen miles southwest of Seguin and close to the Bexar County line. The crossing was once called Perryman’s Crossing, part of the Wood Road between Gonzales and San Antonio. That early route made the creek a practical meeting point long before the area became part of the San Antonio metropolitan landscape. The community’s rural setting still shows in the open land, farm roads, and low-density homes around the creek.

Today, Zuehl is served by Marion Independent School District, while Seguin, Cibolo, and San Antonio supply larger employment, shopping, health care, and school connections. Cibolo Creek marks more than a boundary; it brings flood risk, wildlife, shade, and a natural line through the area. Residents live with the overlap of old road history and modern regional growth, where school buses and ranch trucks share roads with commuters. Zuehl remains a small place with a long transportation memory, tied to the creek crossing that first gave the settlement its reason to exist.
