About Terramuggus
Terramuggus is the village-centered census-designated place within Marlborough, Connecticut, and Lake Terramuggus is the feature that gives it its name and shape. The 2020 census counted 990 residents. The CDP includes part of Marlborough’s town center and surrounding areas, so it feels like a slice of Marlborough organized around a lake while remaining part of the larger town.

Connecticut Route 2 forms the northeastern edge, with Exit 13 feeding toward Route 66 along the southeastern side. That makes Terramuggus easy to place geographically: the lake and town center sit between major east-west routes, while the shoreline gives the area a more local scale. Lake Terramuggus is also woven into town rules and recreation, including regulations for boats and moorings. The result is a small Marlborough district with a clear center of gravity. If you know the lake, you know the name; if you follow the roads, you can see how Terramuggus connects the village, the water, and the rest of town.
